RICKY Gervais, Russell Brand and Peter Kay maybe the country's top comedians but if you ask most children who's their favourite funny-men you'd probably hear the same response – The Chuckle Brothers.
After more than 20 years on our screens the comedy legends that are Barry and Paul Chuckle continue to think up of wacky adventures or crazy ways to make a quick bob, to the comic delight of the under tens.
But it's not just the youngsters that loves them - students bow down at their feet, Loaded magazine started a campaign to get the duo knighted and their catchphrase “To you, To me” is a favourite of removal men everywhere.
So with a new series of Chucklevision confirmed by the BBC for later this year, the Chuckles are still in popular demand and they bring their latest adventure, ChuckleTrek: The Lost Generation, “To You” for the Easter holidays.
So what's the secret to their success?
Barry Chuckle, 64, said: “We've been in showbiz for more than 46 years now, we're still going strong and we still absolutely love entertaining people.
“I think it's the sort of humour that never dies, children love it, the adults like it because they either sit and watch with their children or they grew up watching it and it doesn't offend anyone.
“We start shooting the new series of Chucklevision in the autumn and it will be the same format, just with a modern upgrade to move with the times, it's like the old saying – If it ain't broke, don't fix it.”
The latest live show from Rotherham's favourite sons follows on from last year's successful tour, Indiana Chuckles and the Kingdom of the Mythical Sulk, and marks the duos 16th time on the road.
“Our live shows are always a send up of the big film or what ever is popular at the time, so with Star Trek out in the summer we decided to have ago at that.
“We're going to be transported up onto the USS Exercise by James T Burke and we've got to save the world from aliens and robots – it's going to be a lot of fun.
“We've already done a few shows of the new tour and they've nearly all sold out, we've been really surprised at the turnout because with the credit crunch people haven't got as much free money to spend.”
Barry and Paul were made honorary life presidents of their beloved Rotherham United in 2007, which was a dream come true for the die-hard Millers fans.
“It was an honour, we go to watch them whenever we can and whenever we're there at the Don Valley Stadium we do the half-time presentations - It's great to hear 20,000 Rotherham fans chanting “To me, To you,” Barry added.
And to cap their dream year, the duo were finally handed a special BAFTA award in 2008 as recognition for their outstanding contribution to children's television to end 20 years of hurt.
Barry said: “We'd been nominated for awards so many times, we were starting to think if it would ever happen but it was a brilliant feeling when our name was called – it's currently sitting in my study.
“We're very bad losers you see - myself, Paul and our two other brothers (comedy duo the Patton Brothers) sit on the tour bus playing cards and all hell breaks loose.”
So which Chuckle loses their head and which brother rules the roost on the card table?
“Paul's terrible, cards go flying when he loses - he's the guy with all the ideas on screen – but I'm the calm guy in charge off it, I'm the elder brother you see and they're always in charge!”
ChuckleTrek: The Lost Generation beams into the Wycombe Swan on Saturday, Aprill 11. Tickets cost £12.50 from 01494 512000 or www.wycombeswan.co.uk
