A life-long south Bucks resident celebrated her recent marriage on two different sides of the world with two very different celebrations.
Sabina Denslow married husband Simon at a ceremony in South Africa on March 24 before having a reception in her native Bucks on April 9.
Mrs Denslow, a student social worker at Bucks New University, lives in Prestwood with her three children aged 11, eight and six.
Speaking about the ceremony in Cape Town Mrs Denslow said: “It was an amazing day and the weather was lovely.
“We were meant to get married on the beach but on the day it was a bit windy so we got married in some gardens which were beautiful.
“While we were there we did all the tourist stuff. We did some wine tasting and saw the penguin colony which was great.”
The reception, which took place at the Gate Inn in Bryants Bottom, Great Missenden, wasn’t blessed with the same weather but it didn’t stop them hiring an ice crème van for the day.
“It was a lovely little pub,” the mother of three added. “We were hoping the weather would be ok but it was a bit rainy.
“The ice cream van was my mum’s idea. The man who owns it is an old family friend.
“She thought it would be a nice idea because there was lots of children there – it worked really well and they all loved it.”
