An estate agent in Great Missenden was left red-faced last week after a sign for its new office featured an embarrassing spelling error.
Hamptons International Estate Agents, which has recently moved down High Street from their old address at 62 to the former location of Barclays bank, put up a sign which read “Hamptons Great Missendon”.
Staff say the sign was visible for half a day before it was spotted by their regional director and taken down.
It is not the first time an eagle-eyed reader has spotted a signage error. In November 2015, Peter Lee-Wright spotted a sign being put up upside down in the car park of West Wycombe Village Hall.
In December of the same year, new streetlamps in High Wycombe town centre needed to be replaced after the council admitted that they were put in the wrong streets.
