A young man has been left with serious leg injuries after an incident during a football match in Stokenchurch last weekend.
On Saturday, February 20 a match was taking place at Longburrow Hall playing fields on Park Lane between 2 and 3:30 pm when a 22 year old man was assaulted by another young man on the pitch.
The victim was rushed to Stoke Mandeville hospital where he received treatment for injuries to both of his legs. He has since been discharged.
The offender is described as white, 6 ft, in his early 20s, with an athletic build and blond hair.
Police are urging witnesses to come forward.
Investigating officer Det Con Suzie Price, from High Wycombe Force CID, said: “I would like to speak to witnesses who were watching the match who may have seen the assault. I would particularly like to speak to anyone who was filming the match on their mobile phone or other device and who has footage of the incident.
“If you have any information which could assist with our enquiries please contact me via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.”
